The PhotoBookAthens is a growing collection and an ongoing project by HCP that promotes and showcase photobooks and books about photography.
Celebrating the photobook
Browse our Archive
To provide access to our photobook archive via the Internet, we have recently catalogued and digitised over 1200 publications donated by those who participated in the past four editions of the Athens Photo Festival. We will keep adding to it the full catalogue of the submitted photobooks and new arrivals.
In recognition of the increasing importance of the photo book in contemporary photographic practices, the PhotoBookAthens brings a collection of publications around photography, from an exhibition at the Benaki Museum to online features.
Our aim is to promote and showcase a wide variety of photobooks. We are interested in photobooks independently or commercially published and distributed. This include handmade, self-published, book dummies, exhibition catalogues, print-on-demand books, zines and limited edition photography books, etc.
At the core of the PhotoBookAthens is an open and ongoing submission process. The PhotoBookAthens’ collection is developed and managed by the Hellenic Centre for Photography.
